We got married in Canada and if I could go back and change it I wouldn’t, it was so beautiful. I know it’s a cliché thing to say, but it truly was one of the best days of my life.
One thing that has never left me though, is our UK celebration never happened. The day before our UK blessing where my family and friends could join in on the celebrations I ended up in hospital. The next day I was so adamant I’d be going home, the thought of missing my own blessing devastated me.
I’m sure you’ve already guessed this, but despite my most willing efforts, I didn’t make it. Instead, I collapsed and spent the day in hospital exhausted and teary.
Luckily it was nothing serious, I’d found out a few weeks prior I was pregnant and I suffered terrible sickness and became incredibly weak and was struggling with my breathing which they never did find an answer for.
Always trying to look for the positive though, we decided back then that we’d renew our vows at 10 years and have the day we never had with family and friends. So next year in 2017 we’ll have been married 10 years eek.
The time has flown by. So we have now started looking for a venue. I think it will be even more special now because we have our own little family. Not to mention friends that are like family to us, which we didn’t even know back then.
We are doing it on a budget, because to us it’s not about a fancy do, we are already married and we don’t crave anything lavish. We simply want to celebrate 10 years with those we love and put something that was very upsetting to bed x
Events will resume once it’s safe from Covid-19. I’ll keep you updated on social media.
