OK, so I’m not a ninja, clearly. I’d be a terrible ninja, however, I am hoping to kickass on my September goals.
I haven’t written monthly goals since my January one and that was a total fail on my part. Publicising my goals means I actually have to do something about them. If I don’t post my goals I get to slack off.
January I was way better and not because of the new year BS, but because I’d told you about them. I also made a video on my yearly goals (I’m pleased to say I only have one left to achieve).
I’ll be honest I didn’t succeed in all my January goals, but I did succeed in most of them and made a conscious effort on them all.
So to keep me accountable at the beginning of every month I plan to share my goals. At the end of the month, I plan to tell you how I’ve got on. No pressure then.
So to help me choose my goals I’ve really had to think about where I want to be by the New Year.
By the new year, I want to be much fitter and ready to take my blog to the next level. By this time next year, I hope to be making a full-time career from my blog. Knowing that helps me choose well thought out goals.
So without further a do, here’s my 5 September goals.
1) Get Back Into YouTube
I lost my confidence with YouTube and thus I haven’t made a video in a couple of months. September I plan to start uploading again. I don’t know what to do yet, I’m still battling confidence on what will make a decent video, but I’m thinking one video and one vlog for the month would be a good start. It’s really more about facing the fear of starting again.
2) Face Fears
I have a few fears which really hold me back. They aren’t the kind of stuff we think of when we think of fear, but the real deep rooted stuff we don’t even recognize as fear and just put down to anxiety. I’m going to be doing a whole post on this as a follow on from part 1 of increasing confidence. If you want confidence you have to do the work.
3) Slim Down With Healthy Habits
I’m so much more body confidence than I ever used to be. I really didn’t think I’d ever wear bright red workout leggings, but hey, my confidence is so much more now. That being said, lately, I’ve had to work really hard to embrace my body. It really comes down to the fact I’ve not been working out and eating healthy (I know, yet again, why is it so hard to stick too?) and thus I’ve put on weight.
I’m more than my size, I know this. I’ve really been challenging myself to love myself where I’m at now and you know it’s powerful stuff when you do that. I also know when I work out, eat healthily I feel proud of myself and not only does my body reap the benefits increasing my confidence, mentally I feel better too.
4) Be Focused & Productive
I’ve been really fortunate that in the 10 months I’ve been blogging I’ve got to the stage where brands and PR companies reach out to me. The problem is I decline over 90% of it because I’ve very fussy about what I place on my blog. It’s my blog so I’ve very overprotective of what’s published here.
That being said, if this time next year I wish for it to be my full-time career then I need to be focused and putting myself in a position to work with brands that fit within my blog style and ethics.
I’m passionate about natural beauty cosmetics, I’m even more passionate about cruelty-free beauty, these are the companies I should be contacting. As well wellness and lifestyle companies. I’m been so pants at marketing my blog to brands. The whole concept seems a little alien to me, but I’m aiming to get over myself in September and start putting myself out there so to speak.
5) Be Accountable On Instagram
Lastly, accountability is key for me. So I plan to share daily stories on Instagram on what I’m doing to achieve my goals. I’ve been really inconsistent on my Instagram stories and I really want to get confidence with Instagram (that’s been a massive hang up for me, more on that here), so I plan to kill two birds with one stone by upping my Instagram game and making myself accountable.
