I set goals every month, but December is one of the most important times to set goals. It really gives you a chance to feel stuff out and help you go into the new year knowing what you need to do to make it the best year it can be. Essentially it’s staying on track of designing a life you’d actually choose to live if you had the choice.
So with that in mind, here are my December goals:
Goal 1) Do The Inner Work
I’ve started work on my wellness book and course and in doing that I realised I have a lot of inner work to do. Wounds to heal, insecurities to put to bed and healthy habits to create. It’s time. It’s overdue.
Goal 2) YouTube
Ah, YouTube, here you are once again as another goal. I keep slacking on YouTube because truthfully I keep letting negative self-talk tell me I don’t have what it takes to do YouTube. Not only that, it’s one of my dreams to be successful on YouTube. I don’t need a mass audience, but creating a community on there would be the dream.
So as I always say face your fears then it’s time to be a bit more consistent. I’m aiming to have four videos go up in November. Two vlogs and two sit down videos.
Goal 3) Up My Social Media Game
I get fed up with all the game playing on social media. I’m talked about the crap that goes on with Instagram before, but I need to suck it up and get my business head-on.
How successful I’ll be is dependant on how much my work is seen so I can’t avoid it anymore. I need to be posting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter daily. Do follow me on social media if you’re not already.
Goal 4) Help The Homeless
I want to create 50 care packages for the homeless in Dorset and give them out to people on the streets that need them. They’ll be filled with snacks, items to keep them warm etc.
I’ve started doubting whether I can pull off 50 care packages, I’d need quite a few businesses to get involved, but I’ve decided that even if I can’t pull off what I had in mind I can do something.
If I don’t manage to pull on the big campaign I’m hoping to, I’ll at the very least do something to help the homeless. Doing something to help someone else, no matter how small is such an important thing to do this time of year.
Goal 5) Grow Dorset Lifestyle Bloggers
Late in the Summer, I started social meetups to connect local bloggers together to support one and other. It then blossomed into Dorset Lifestyle Bloggers where I now organise social monthly meetups, bringing influencers together.
It’s something super rewarding and very relaxed. I could go down a more formal root arranging free press events for us all to attend, but truthfully that’s not where I’m at with it.
I want to build the community 1st and have it as a place of laughter and friendship. In time, that will come, but for now, it’s just growing the numbers and getting the word out. It’s new and there are a lot of local bloggers that won’t know about Dorset Lifestyle Bloggers yet.
This month I’ve arranged a Christmas Party for us in Bournemouth and I can’t wait. I’ve also been regularly catching up with some amazing Dorchester bloggers so it’s already growing, but it’s time to push it a bit more now. If you want to see what we get up to then you can check on the Instagram and Twitter pages.
If you’re setting goals this month, then loads of luck with them,
Kirsty xx
