The lovely Laura from Five Little Doves nominated me to take part in The Christmas Tag. I’m so chuffed about it. It’s my 1st ever tag eek! It’s the little things in life ☺
So without further a do, here’s my answers:
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
I find this question hard, but I’m going to go with Love Actually.
Have you ever had a White Christmas?
I’m not sure. I know I’ve definitely had some white Christmases when I was little living in Co.Durham and one when I went home for Christmas (I think it was 6 years ago now), but by this I mean snow on the ground. If your talking about the official definition of snow falling in London on Christmas I’m not sure if the times match. Definitely been lucky enough to have had snow at Christmas, but definitely not sure if it’s ever been an official White Christmas.
Where do you usually spend your holidays?
It actually changes every year. Some years it’s just the four of us at home. Sometimes we go to my Mums and sometimes we go to my hubby’s Mum for Christmas. It could be any of those three and in actual fact, we tend to do each one every 3 years and take turns.
What’s your favourite Christmas song?
Band Aid. There is something about this song that really makes me stop and think. Although I also love Mariah’s Carey’s All I Want For Christmas and of course Fairytale Of New York.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
The kids get a Christmas Eve box from the elves, sadly the elves think we adults are too old.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer’s?
LOL. This is a funny question, if you’ve watched my latest YouTube Video you’ll know why but no.
Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
Hands down my favourite is when the elves leave the kids Christmas Eve boxes. My daughter gets so excited and has even been known to cry happy tears, it’s the only time she ever does this. It’s a real magical moment. I also love the excitement on the morning of opening and watching each other open presents (particularly the kids). I also love the laughing over Christmas Dinner and the whole family playing games. Whom I kidding I love it all!
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake and it’s red. I like to be different hehe.
Our Red Christmas Tree ♥
What’s your favourite holiday sweet/treat/food?
Totally love Yorkshire puddings, gravy and mint sauce 😛
Be honest, do you prefer giving or receiving gifts?
Honestly, I love giving. I know everyone says that but seriously I do. That’s what Christmas is all about, however, I will admit it only just wins. I love giving, but sometimes when you have a small budget to buy for a lot of people the giving can be sometimes stressful. The actual giving is amazing, but the running around and trying to get for everyone makes it less fun, which is why it only just wins for me. However, if money and time was no issue then hands down giving would win a thousand to one. As it stands it’s only winning by a teeny fraction, purely because I can find the process stressful and if we are being totally honest I do love opening presents. There is a teeny tiny child in me that is dying to get out and ripe open loads of presents. It’s rather exciting wondering what’s inside, sometimes way more exciting than the actual gift. I do like to feel up a present or two!
What is the best Christmas present you have ever received?
Last year my little sister got me a pink iPad shuffle and it had engraved on the back “a blast from the past”. When I listened to it I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. It was filled with tunes from our childhood that brought such happy memories. I spent ages just giggling away listening. It was unexpected and incredibly thoughtful. I was quite blown away by it.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I know a lot of people probably say this, but Disneyland Florida. I can just imagine at Christmas time it is amazing and very magical.
Are you a pro wrapper or do you fail miserably?
Fail miserably, but try. That’s what counts right?
Most memorable Christmas moment?
Getting a red bike and walking into the living room seeing it was full of presents for me and my sisters. I don’t know my age, but it’s the 1st one I remember. I can still remember that magical feeling of Santa’s been.
My Sisters and I ♥
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
What are you saying? In all seriousness though, I don’t remember when I found out. The news obviously didn’t scar me for life.
What makes the holidays special for you?
Family time. When it all comes down to it, it’s all about just being together.
I nominate Snuggles & Kisses and With Happy Hearts for the Christmas Tag, Merry Christmas Jacinta and Emma, have a great one☺
