I love reading Christmas gift guides. They’re great for inspiring you with ideas to get the perfect present for someone you love and so this year I wanted to do my 1st gift guide for you all.
I thought it was best to stick to what I know best which is the girly stuff. I’m very much a girly girl, not in the sense I love pink and always wear makeup because actually, I don’t. I can’t stand the colour baby pink. I’ll all about bold and bright shades but I do class myself as the stereotype girly girl in the fact I get excited about this stuff.
Anyway without further ado here are 10 present ideas that I think any girly girl would be so chuffed to find under the Christmas tree.
1) Beauty Gift Set
A good beauty gift set is a perfect present. Sometimes it’s just nice to be treated to a gift set from a brand you love. It’s something we can’t always justify buying for ourselves, but there is nothing nicer than having a set of all your beauty faves.
I use some of the PHB Ethical Beauty makeup and I love it so I can only imagine how nice their skincare sets would be. What I love about this brand is that they donate 20% of their profits to charity. Coming up to Christmas it’s nice to feel your Christmas shopping can be benefiting others too.
2) Perfume
Perfume is a very personal thing. We all like very different smells, but I do feel if you know someone’s favourite perfume or the kind of scents they like then treating someone to a fragrance is such a great gift idea. Again, it’s something so nice to have, but we can’t always justify buying ourselves.
3) A Good Book
There is nothing better than snuggling up with a great book or reading something that you have a great interest in.
So many people are getting into natural beauty. I’m personally a big fan of natural skincare.
Going one step further it’s become quite a trend now to make your own makeup and skincare. The Fresh Faced Beauty and Fresh Faced Makeup book would be ideal for someone who likes making DIY beauty products especially if it was combined with some ingredients to get them started.
4) Tipple
Nothing says Christmas like your favourite alcoholic beverage. If they don’t drink then a luxury gift set of their favourite tea or coffee brand.
5) Makeup
If you’re a girls girl you’ve gotta love a bit of makeup at Christmas. I love getting makeup for Christmas. My sister always gets me some new cruelty-free makeup every year and I never get bored of it. It’s always so exciting to get something new to try. I love it!
6) Pampering
I think it’s nice to treat someone to a bit of pampering whether that’s a voucher to get their nails done, a spa day or simply a really nice massage oil. Personally, I love the Neal’s Yard Aromatic massage oil.
7) Accessories
Girly girls love accessories. I prefer costume jewellery and I got this New Look necklace set (pictured below) for £1. Yes, that’s right for a quid!
It was in their sale jewellery section and FYI if you like accessories you need to get to New Look quick. They have loads of accessories reduced. Even if you don’t need a present for someone they have some lovely accessories from handbags to shoes with money off which will be great for those Christmas parties.
Some girls don’t like costume jewellery though so depending on who your buying for make sure you know their style. There isn’t anything more awkward than getting jewellery you hate. Jewellery and accessories make for amazing gifts if you’re confident you know what they like but if you’re not sure it can be best to avoid jewellery and accessories.
8) Indulgent
Christmas is a time where we all enjoy indulging. For me, I love Nakd Posh bites and wrote a whole post taste testing the Nakd products. I’m always impressed when someone knows my favourite chocolate (FYI Terry’s Chocolate Orange) so do a little detective work here.
You can’t go wrong with buying someone’s favourite sweet treat or even a savoury treat.
I was literally just laughing yesterday with my sister-in-law about the fact I’ve chosen a cheese board for my dessert for the Christmas party. To me, this is the perfect dessert so think outside the box. What do they love to eat?
9) Hobby
For my 30th Tony got me a healing crystal tree and it’s been one of the best surprises I’ve ever had. Purely because it’s something I love. I’m a total spirit junkie and I love crystals so it was such a thoughtful present and totally unexpected.
I think if someone is into something or has a hobby then it’s a good idea to try and get them a present around that. It really shows you care and people love thoughtful presents.
Always think about what they like. Make a list of hobbies they love, TV programmes, celebrities etc and you’ll soon have some great gift ideas.
10) What They Really Want Or Need
I love a surprise, I really do and I always think it’s so nice to have a surprise, but that being said it’s even better to give someone what they really want or need. Unless it’s an iron they need, then perhaps not so much.
After treating myself to some Nuxe stuff when I shopped/ dressed for confidence I tried the Nuxe dry oil and fell in love with it. I’ve now gone and actually treated myself to this little Nuxe Christmas cracker that I purchased from M & S for £10.
The set includes the shimmer dry oil which sounds, even more, up my street. I love a bit of shimmer. I plan to use it for my upcoming Christmas parties in December.
Inside the cracker you get the micellar cleansing water with rose petals 35ml, Creme Fraiche 48 hour moisturising cream 15ml and lastly the whole reason I bought this holiday cracker, the Huile Prodigieuse Shimmering dry oil 10ml.
Basically what I’m saying is that I really love this product so if someone had bought me it, I’d have been over the moon. So if you know that they really love something then although it may not seem very original sometimes the classic and totally expected presents make the best gifts.
